Confession and Sin

If evidence was seized by a LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER without a search warrant or without probable cause, it will not be allowed in court by a judge. Similarly, when a Believer tries to present his prayers to the Lord with sin in his heart, the Heavenly judge will not hear his/her petition:

He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. (Proverbs 28:13 NKJV)
If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. (Psalms 66:18 NLT)
It's your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore. (Isaiah 59:2 NLT)
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil. (1 Peter 3:12 NLT)
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1John1:9 NKJV)
