At times, would you agree it might be prudent or wise for a law enforcement officer to exercise discretion (mercy) when dealing with criminal suspects and not expect anything in return? Did you know the bible talks about those who extend mercy to others?  Check out what the bible says:  Click here

  • A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25(NIV)
  • Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Galatians 6:7(NIV)
  • Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9(NIV)
  • Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Matthew 5:7,9 (NIV)
  • Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16(NIV)
  • A generous man will himself be blessed… Proverbs 22:9a(NIV)
  • Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Luke 6:37b-38(NIV)
  • Mercy triumphs over judgment! James 2:13b(NIV)
  • Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them…But everything exposed by the light becomes visible…for it is light that makes everything visible. Ephesians 5:11-14(NIV)
  • There is deceit in the hearts of those who plot evil, but joy for those who promote peace. Proverbs 12:20(NIV)
  • Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men. Titus 3:1-2(NIV)
  • Practice hospitality. Romans 12:13b(NIV)
  • Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12(NIV)
  • Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Luke 6:36(NIV)
  • The LORD is known by his justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.
    Psalms 9:16(NIV)
  • He who digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit he has made. The trouble he causes recoils on himself; his violence comes down on his own head. Psalms 7:15-16(NIV)
  • And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right. 2 Thessalonians 3:13(NIV)
  • The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14(NIV)
  • Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 2 Corinthians 9:6(NIV)
  • Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14(NIV)
  • James, Peter and John, those reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the Jews. All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do. Galatians 2:9-10(NIV)
  • And let this gift, which your servant has brought to my master, be given to the men who follow you. 1 Samuel 25:27(NIV)
