Our Merciful Lord, our hearts are broken as we join with our fellow servants in the Loudoun County Fire Department and across America as they are mourning this tragic loss of Firefighter Trevor Brown and eleven other firefighters who were injured in a propane explosion. O’ Lord, as we know the pain is ever so great for Firefighter Brown’s family, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace and lift the families affected into Your Arms of Love. May the power of Your Holy Spirit fill them with love, grace, peace, mercy, comfort and most of all Your presence to carry them through this very difficult time of loss. As the injured firefighters are being treated, may You raise up the needed medical specialists to identify their wounds and restore them to full health. May You grant the investigators wisdom to determine all of the facts surrounding this incident. May the men and women of the Loudoun County Fire Department be drawn ever so close to Your Side Lord to intimately know Your Word says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. So Lord, as this loss has affected so many in the firefighting community in Virginia and across America, may many be drawn ever so close to Your Side to intimately know Your peace that passes all understanding. May those who have been so emotionally and spiritually affected at this tragic loss know You said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Lord, we are so thankful for these firefighters and every other firefighter across America who willingly place their lives on the line every day to protect the lives of others. Lastly, as the Loudoun County Fire Department must now begin the task to prepare a final farewell for their fallen comrade, may You use this final service to encourage countless broken hearts. May You raise up Godly men, women, chaplains and Godly firefighters to share the love of Jesus to many who are hurting so deeply. May many come to know Your Son in a real and personal way, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
