Praying for the Tucson Police Dept. in the on-duty fatality of Officer Adam Buckner and for a wounded Tuscarawas County (OH) Sheriff's Deputy

Our Gracious Lord, we come before Your Throne of Grace to lift up the Tucson Police Department in the tragic loss of Officer Adam Buckner from an on-duty collision. O Lord, right now, it is only Your amazing grace that can truly carry the men and women of the Tucson Police Department through this very difficult and emotional time. We also want to lift up a wounded Tuscarawas County Deputy into Your healing Hands. May Your love, grace, peace, mercy and most of all, Your presence, settle upon this deputy. May Your healing touch be upon him and restore him to full health. As the men and women of the Tucson Police Department are crushed in heart and spirit, may Your supernatural presence be made real in their hearts and souls as You carry them through this loss of a dear friend. May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to determine the facts of this collision. As the family of Officer Buckner are mourning ever so greatly, may Your grace, mercy, love and comfort especially touch them and may they know it is You who will carry them through this difficult time. May You hold them ever so closely to Your Side where they may sense Your peace in the middle of this difficult storm. May Your word as follow bring great comfort to those in need, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” And “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” As we know many other law enforcement officers and first responders were present at these two separate scenes, we ask for a touch of the Master’s Hand to be upon every one of them and may they know just how much You love them and will carry them through this valley of the shadow of death. May Your grace preserve the hearts and minds of those struggling and prevent them from enduring any long-term emotional trauma. May You use this tragedy to cause many other officers, deputies and family members to examine their hearts and be drawn to Your love. May many know Your word says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” Finally, may anyone who has strayed from Your path, recommit their lives to You and may they be used for Your Glory. In the coming week as preparations will be made to say farewell to Officer Buckner, may You raise up chaplains and Godly officers to be a beacon of hope and may many come to receive You as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
