Our Father in Heaven, we need Your divine intervention right now, Lord, for a critically wounded Syracuse police officer and an Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputy shot in the same incident. As both officers are being treated at a hospital and have likely already undergone surgery, we come with great boldness before Your Throne of Grace to seek Your healing power to be upon these peace officers. May You bring in the needed medical specialists who will be able to continue to diagnose and treat their injuries and restore them to full health. Lord, we ask for Your Holy Spirit to speak to the hearts and souls of these two wounded law enforcement officers. May they know You love them and if they do not know You, may they receive You as their Savior and Lord. As we know multiple family members are at the hospital, may Your mercy and grace sustain them by Your Holy Spirit and draw them ever so close to Your Side as You carry them through this time of uncertainty. May Your healing power touch Your peacemakers. O’ God, spare their lives. We are thankful a suspect has been arrested. May You, Lord, grant the investigators wisdom to piece together the facts surrounding these horrific attacks on Your servants. As this has struck the men and women of the Syracuse Police Department and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department ever so hard, may You hold every officer and deputy in Your Arms and sustain them with Your Amazing Grace and peace as You carry them through this very emotional time. O’ God, as countless law enforcement officers constantly place themselves in harm’s way daily, protect them with Your Shield and Your Power. Be a Rock and Fortress to them! May You, O’ God, continue to provide the best treatment for these officers and spare their lives O’ God. May Your words bring comfort to the hearts of many, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” ; “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” ; and, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” May Your Holy Spirit comfort every peace officer and their families, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
