Our Mighty Lord, we are thankful for ballistic vests and come before Your Throne of Grace with hearts of gratitude and thanksgiving that the lives of two of Your peacemakers were spared by Your mercies. So, Lord, we lift up these wounded Chicago and Superior police officers into Your Presence Lord and ask for Your healing touch to continue to be upon them as they have already been treated at a hospital. We are so thankful their Kevlar vests saved them. May You reveal to the heart and mind of both officers Your amazing and unending love, grace, peace and comfort of Your Holy Spirit. May Your love, grace, mercy peace and comfort especially touch the family of each wounded officer as they with them supporting and loving them at this very emotional time. May Your grace additionally extend to the many co-workers and friends of these officers and uphold them with Your arms of love as they experienced this near-death encounter. Lord, we also ask You to give the investigators wisdom as they piece together the details of each incident in which the suspects are no longer a threat. May Your mercies, Your Presence and grace gently settle upon the hearts and minds of the men and women of the Chicago and Superior Police Departments and draw them ever so close to Your side for comfort. May Your love and grace extend to the many other officers, firefighters, paramedics and first responders who responded to those scenes and surround them with Your love as they had to witness this carnage up close. May Your word as follow strengthen every law enforcement officer as follow, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” May Your Holy Spirit reveal the Love of Your Son to the many officers who were present. And if either wounded officer or any other officer does not know You personally, may Your Holy Spirit draw them unto Your side where they may have an opportunity to receive Your Son as they Savior and Lord. May they know Your word says, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest”, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
