Our Gracious Lord, we come before Your Throne of Grace and mercy to lift up the Washington State Patrol in the on-duty fatality of Trooper Tara-Marysa Guting.   Lord, right now, it is only Your amazing grace that can truly carry the men and women of the Washington State Patrol through this very difficult and emotional time. Lord, we also lift up a wounded Albuquerque Police Officer, a seriously injured Baltimore Police Officer struck by a vehicle and a seriously injured Oklahoma State Trooper struck by a vehicle.  May Your Presence and healing touch to be upon them and restore them to full health. May the doctors use their training and wisdom to be able to diagnose their injuries and apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. May Your wisdom be poured out upon the investigators surrounding each incident and grant them insight to determine the facts. May Your grace, mercy, love and comfort especially touch the family of each peace officer as we know they have been deeply affected this Christmas week. May You hold them ever so closely to Your Side where they may sense Your peace in the middle of this difficult storm. May Your grace also be with the families of each peace officer. As we know many other law enforcement officers and first responders had to witness these very difficult scenes, we ask for a touch of the Master’s Hand to be upon every one of them and may they know just how much You love them and will carry them through this valley of the shadow of death. May Your grace preserve the hearts and minds of those struggling from enduring any long-term emotional trauma. May You use this tragedy and near-tragedies to cause many other officers and family members to examine their hearts and be drawn to Your love. May many know Your word says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” O’ Lord, as the Washington State Patrol must begin the process to prepare a final farewell to their fallen comrade, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a light to others at this dark time. May every officer know Your word says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” Finally, may anyone who has strayed from Your path, recommit their lives to You and may they be used for Your Glory. May many come to receive You as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
