Sexual Temptation

A Law Enforcement Officer can be exposed to various forms of sexual temptations both on and off duty.  Check out what the bible has to say:

  • Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18(NIV)
  • Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Hebrews 13:4(NIV)
  • “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food”—but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 1 Corinthians 6:13(NIV)
  • Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2(NIV)
  • But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 5:28(NKJV)
  • No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. 1 Corinthians 10:13(NIV)
  • It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5(NIV)
  • In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace. Romans 6:11-14(NIV)
  • The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; Galatians 5:19(NIV)
  • When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. James 1:13-14(NIV)
